About Cazz Clarke - Remedial Massage Therapist
My interest in remedial massage stems from a love (some may say obsession) of cycling – for most of my life I have been involved in the field of cycling as a participant and competitor, accredited coach, and even briefly as a retail assistant in a bike shop. My interest in cycling and generally in health and fitness has given me both an awe and avid curiosity toward the function of the human body. I love to be in a constant process of learning about how it works, and more specifically to remedial massage: what is happening when it breaks down, or isn't working as efficiently as it could. In order to further progress my knowledge, I'm currently studying a Bachelor of Exercise and Sport Science at Deakin University.
I conduct my massage therapy sessions in the same way that I coach, and approach life in general - first and foremost with honesty and integrity, underpinned by a strong foundation of knowledge, a commitment to ongoing learning, and a no-nonsense down to earth approach. My goal is simple - that you achieve optimum performance and enjoyment of your sport, activities, and everyday life. My youth was quintessentially Australian, growing up on farms in central NSW and north-east Victoria, and I spent many hours in the sunshine exploring the surrounding areas on my bike. I initially trained in graphic design with an interest in interactive media, gained work as a website designer and spent the next 15 years freelancing in this profession, progressively teaching myself website and database development as the need arose. Although often challenging, this was however not my true passion - and with my interest in cycling, health and fitness never far from my mind, I finally saw the light and sought a new career path which is more aligned with my interests and lifestyle. In my spare time, I also run a Bicycle Coaching business called 'Bike It Better' - visit www.bikeitbetter.com for more information.
